being a member of their local association. These Association Representatives did an outstanding job in reaching out and having one-on-one conversations with their fellow employees in order to convince them that becoming a member was to their advantage. The Association Representatives are also becoming adept at identifying and quickly solving issues as they arise. In addition to signing up new members, the local has made great progress in improving communication with the district. Not only should the new Association Representatives be commended, but the entire membership at the transportation department should be commended for their hard work and dedication. The fi rst district employee that most students see each morning is a bus driver and these drivers are professionals who work hard and enjoy working with the students of Sweetwater County School District #1. Member Spotlight 7 New Sweetwater Classifi ed EA Association Representatives Are Doing it for emselves! by Joe Clingenpeel The Sweetwater Classifi ed Education Association (SCEA) in Sweetwater County School District #1 picked up over 40 new Education Support Professional (ESP) members in the Transportation Department due to the hard work of numerous transportation employees. The employees in the transportation department saw a need to have their voice heard within the district. Transportation chose to organize their eff orts in order to improve communication, as one unifi ed voice, between their department and the district and there has been a marked improvement in a very short time.
