He brings nearly a decade of experience in the editing suite, having honed his skills at NO6 and Arcade Edit. Brown has worked on Project Daniel for Intel, Tim & Eric and Jeff Goldblum's offbeat collabora- tion for GE, and Loctite's Win at Glue Super Bowl spot. Additional credits include work for Nike, Comcast Xfinity, AT&T, T-Mobile, Bud Light and HomeAway. Brown has also cut documentaries and long-form narrative projects. ALVARO DEL VAL Boutique post house Wax, with offices in New York and Boston, recently brought on multifac- eted editor Alvaro del Val. He brings nearly 15 years of editorial experience, having established and honed his craft in Madrid and Dubai, where he worked on projects for global clients such as McDonald's, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Nissan and Nestle. Del Val's work has canvassed the creative spectrum, from commercials and music videos to short documentaries and films. More recently, he completed projects for Fitbit, the short documenta- ry The Kicking Yoda, Marriott's documentary short series Storybooked and Volvo's Song of the Open Road. LUIS EDUARDO FLORES Editorial house Beast, a Deluxe company, has promoted Luis Eduardo Flores (Guicho) to ed- itor, handling all of the company's Texas-based Hispanic work as well as general market projects. Flores has been an assistant editor at Beast for two years, joining the company from LatinWorks, where he spent three years as an editor and con- tent producer. He has worked on projects for top brands, including Anheuser-Busch, Lowes, Jack Daniel's, Cricket Wireless and El Pollo Loco. Additional work includes producing and directing music videos for emerging Latino artists and promoting Hispanic culture through narrative video projects and photography. MASSIMO D'AVOLIO Technicolor Post has appointed Massimo D'Avolio chief operating officer for worldwide post produc- tion. D'Avolio, previously SVP and divisional CFO at Method Studios, will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and oversee the imple- mentation of the business strategy globally from Technicolor's Hollywood office. D'Avolio recently completed work on Amazon's The Romanoffs, Hulu's Castle Rock and Sony's Alpha, with upcoming releases to include Disney's Mary Poppins Returns, Sony's Welcome to Marwen, Warner Bros.' The Mule, HBO's third season of True Detective and Netflix's Black Mirror. ALEJANDRO DAMIANI Los Angeles- and Mexico-based branded entertain- ment production company Gloria has strengthened its roster by signing filmmaker and VFX specialist, Alejandro Damiani. He brings an extensive back- ground and expertise in visual effects, industrial design, post production, creative directing and filmmaking. Damiani has worked across multiple platforms, from his commercial work for Gandhi Bookstores and Sears to his title sequence for Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead remake. He also created the politically charged, pro-immigration-themed sci-fi short M.A.M.O.N. (Monitor Against Mexicans Over Nationwide). EVAN BENJAMIN New York's Sound Lounge is expanding its film and television division by welcoming 20-year industry veteran supervising sound editor, designer and re-recording mixer Evan Benjamin to its team. Benjamin is best known for his work in documen- taries, including the acclaimed feature doc, RBG about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, as well as documentary series for Netflix, Paramount Network, HBO, and PBS. He has credits on more than 130 film, television and documentary projects, including Paramount Network's Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, HBO's Baltimore Rising, Time: The Kalief Browder Story, Welcome to Leith, Joseph Pulitzer: Man of the People and Moynihan. BILL CRAMER Editor Bill Cramer has joined New York post bou- tique Northern Lights, bringing with him experience in commercials, network promos and co-branded content. Cramer has a keen sensibility for comedy/ dia-logue-driven projects and comes to the studio after a 20-year stint at Crew Cuts, where he won a Silver Lion at Cannes for his work on Showbound Naturals dog food and a Gold Promax/BDA award for a Law & Order campaign he cut for Cloo. His diverse client list includes work for BBDO, Publicis, Grey, USA, MSNBC, Nickelodeon Creative Advertising and ESPN. ALFONSO CUARÓN Director/writer Alfonso Cuarón will receive the Sonny Bono Visionary Award during the 30 th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival's (PSIFF) Film Awards Gala for his most recent project, Roma, which is scheduled to launch globally on Netflix as well as theatrically around the world, this month. The two- time Academy Award winner has written and direct- ed a wide range of acclaimed films, including Gravity, Great Expectations, Y Tu Mamá También, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Children of Men. He joins such past recipients as Danny Boyle, Michel Hazanavicius, Tom Hooper, Tom McCarthy, Richard Linklater and Quentin Tarantino. The Gala will be held on January 3rd at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
