The Doll House The Victorian house set had to be completed in a very short window. As it was being designed, built, painted and decorated, the dollhouse replica of it was fast on its heels. Design and color decisions on one would have to be translated and sourced in miniature the next day. As in the script, it had to be an exact replica of the actual house, and conform to very specific story lines and flashbacks. Having the set elevations and plans made making the structure easier, but it's all about the details. The first order of business was determining the scale of the house. SketchUp models were created of the three sizes that off-the-shelf essential elements could be bought—furniture, moldings, shingles, etc., that could then be customized. A.
