team completed major renovations within both the Wershe house and the grandparents' house to make them fit the story and to make them suitable for shooting. All the interior finishes were stripped and started from scratch in both houses. The kitchens were remodeled, walls and paneling added, and the ground floor layouts re-worked. One of the major logistic challenges for Audra was the time of year. Preproduction took place during the dead of winter and full sides of houses had to be tented to bring them up to a temperature where paint would adhere to surfaces. The Curry brothers' garage was also a major location set. There was so many scenes here that the production felt we had to own that space and exteriors as well.
