STEPHANIE BRUNO If you love New Orleans and its beautiful buildings, then this is a book you must have. This book includes images of some of the most important buildings still standing and more importantly, some buildings that have been lost to fire, hurricane, flooding or time. But the best part of this book by far is the exquisite drawings by Blanchard. He features 200 of the exquisite watercolor and some pen and ink drawings, all in scale. Enjoy the 300 years of New Orleans architecture this book shows you. COLOR LIBRARY TEXT BY EMILY KING, SHIRANA SHAHBAZI, MANON BRUET, FRANZ SIGG This book is a tool for artists, designers, photographers and printers for color theory and color management. The Color Library project was started in at ECAL/ University of Art and Design Lausanne in 2014. Initially for experimental purposes, it is now a database of color profiles for anyone interested in color or looking for fresh color-management solutions. It provides a variety of color combinations from basic color to metallic, neon and pastels. The publication documents the different chromatic and technical possibilities offered by Color Library and includes a commissioned visual essay by photographer Shirana Shahbazi, as well as essays by Emily King, Manon Bruet and Franz Sigg. THE ARCHITECTURE OF CLOSED WORLDS BY LYDIA KALLIPOLITI What do you need for a closed-system environment? What would you need to live day to day? How would you survive in space or underwater? The Architecture of Closed Worlds documents the rise of new environmental consciousness. The book showcases a timeline of thirty-nine archive prototypes from 1928 to now. These structures include the FNRS Balloon (1931), Aqualung (1943), House of the Future (1982) and EDEN Project (2000). Each structure is presented in archival images with new analysis and illustrations. The author Lydia Kallipoliti, an architect, engineer and scholar, walks the reader through each project.
