Led by Executive Vice President Rebecca Damon, members held a "bake sale" at BBH's U.S. headquarters in New York. The faux fundraiser was organized to draw attention to the ad agency's claim that it can't afford to pay actors a living wage. "We have had a relationship with poor, poor BBH for more than 20 years, so we're here to help them raise some funds. We are selling sweet baked goods so they can pocket more of those sweet corporate profits," Damon said. "All kidding aside, this is serious business. In a time when corporations are willing to devalue people's work and their worth, SAG-AFTRA and our allies are here to take a stand. That's why we're here. That's why we're standing strong. And that's why we're not giving up." Several special guests showed up to lend their support, including New York Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, New York State Sen. Brad Hoylman, New York State AFL- CIO President Mario Cilento and New York City Central Labor Council President Vincent Alvarez. These actions were just part of the ongoing #AdsGoUnion campaign that has mobilized thousands of SAG-AFTRA members across the country. On Aug. 23, dozens of members jumped on buses at SAG-AFTRA Plaza for a trip to Venice, where they walked to the famous Venice Beach basketball courts next to the beach and leafleted an NBA commercial shoot that employed non-union actors. "We will continue to make our presence felt by employers who turn to non-union actors to undercut the value of our MARGARITA CORPORAN PHOTOGRAPHY/SAG-AFTRA JESSE GRANT/SAG-AFTRA Sign up to get the latest strike info and find out how to take action by visiting sagaftra.org/strikebbh Continues
