Each day, Jon and I discussed the visuals—such as NYC scenes remaining predominately black and white so the movie would explode into color upon arrival in Singapore. On Bangkok's outskirts, we discovered a stunning atrium and large reflecting pool, featuring two-story travelers palms. Jon's excitement was evident as we dreamed of a wedding featuring those palms, and definitely incorporating water! From Jungle to Bejeweled Singapore's historic Tyersall Road, near the Botanical Gardens and famous Orchard Road, is the most exclusive neighborhood in the garden infused city-state. A long-demolished palace once stood in the midst of a huge nearby parcel now overgrown with jungle. Kwan fashioned the fictional Tyersall Park for the Youngs as if they owned that property. With several Tyersall scenes, great bones were needed on which to fashion the estate. In Malaysia, we found two old houses which conceivably could play as one.
