"I was born and raised here, my wife was born and raised here, and so were my dad and grandfather," says August Sebastiani, founder of 3 Badge Beverage Corporation. "Sonoma is a great place to be." Sebastiani affirmed his commitment to his hometown when his company bought a declassified firehouse from the City of Sonoma in 2015, retrofitting it to serve as 3 Badge's headquarters. "We completely rebranded our company to 3 Badge because of this building's connection to my family," Sebastiani explains. His grandfather was a volun- teer firefighter, and the company's name holds special meaning: "The three badges we refer to are my grandfa- ther's active badge that lived in his wallet for 30 years, his retired badge, and the honorary badge that was given to my grandmother when he passed away," Sebastiani recounts reverently. 3 Badge produces several wines and craft spirits, but among its enticing offerings is the Kirk and Sweeney line of Dominican rums.
